Hearings Sub-Committee
The hearings sub-committee dealt with the findings of any investigation of an allegation that a member of the authority had failed, or may have failed, to comply with the authority's code of conduct and determines what action should be taken.
The sub-committee only met after a complaint had been considered by the referrals sub-committee and, in some instances, the review sub-committee.
The membership of the sub-committee was drawn from the membership of the standards committee (rotated alphabetically for each hearing), including two independent members, one councillor and (if the hearing related to a parish issue) one parish council representative.
The hearings sub-committee was a sub-committee of the standards committee.
