Hempstead and Wigmore
Hempstead and Wigmore was a three-member ward which elected councillors for the first time in May 1979. The ward was abolished in April 1998 when Gillingham borough council was merged with Rochester-upon-Medway city council.
There have been 14 elections in Hempstead and Wigmore ward. In the last election in May 1996, the Conservatives received the highest number of votes and won the seat.
Prior to 1996, voters in the ward had also elected Liberal Democrat councillors.
