Hugh Gaitskell

The Rt Hon. Hugh Gaitskell CBE has stood in one election in Medway but has never held elected office within the towns. He most recently stood as a Labour parliamentary candidate in Chatham in 1935.

Hugh is a former Labour member of parliament for Leeds South in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

During his time in parliament, Hugh served as chancellor of the exchequer, minister for economic affairs, and minister of fuel and power.
