Council: Reverse Decision to Declare Land at Compass Close Surplus
16 September 2004
Motion
Councillor Murray has submitted the following:
Following Medway council's decision on 23 October 2003 to declare the eight acres of land known as Compass Close (Copperfields) surplus to requirements, there has been significant public opposition to the sale.
In light of this opposition and also the land's high value to the community as an urban green space, council is again asked to reverse its decision, and retain the land for further development as a public open space and biodiversity area.
On being put to the vote, the motion was lost.
