The council considered a proposal submitted by Councillor Godwin and supported by Councillor Murray that:

This council condemns the current administration's practice of selling Medway's precious open space for development without consulting local residents and calls for:

• those residents affected by the sale of the former Priestfields' Nursery site and the open space at Compass Close and at The Tideway to be consulted about alternative uses for the land; and
• any future sales of open land space to be subject to full public consultation.

On being put to the vote, the motion was lost.
