An election was held in Lordswood ward on 1 May 1997 to elect three councillors.
It was the first election to be held in the ward following the creation of Medway council. Labour won two of the new seats and the Conservatives won the remaining new seat.
Juliette Marcia Andrews, Norman Peter Carter and Susan Ann Carter were elected as councillors for the ward.
