An election was held in Hook Meadow ward on 4 May 2000 to elect two councillors.
Prior to the election, both of the seats were held by the Liberal Democrats. Following the election, independent Liberal Democrat candidates gained both of the seats from the Liberal Democrats.
Ian Hamish Burt and Doris Vivien Wheller were elected as councillors for the ward.
