An election was held in Hook Meadow ward on 1 May 1997 to elect two councillors.
It was the first election to be held in the ward following the creation of Medway council. The Liberal Democrats won both of the new seats.
Ian Hamish Burt and Doris Vivien Wheller were elected as councillors for the ward.
